Hooray, the Coronavirus vaccine is finally being administered! Yes, it has been a slow process. No one knew it was going to be this complicated. Eventually, things will get figured out. As the number of Americans and citizens around world vaccinated continues to grow, one question remains. When it comes to traveling, very likely the airlines, Amtrak, and the cruise lines will require proof of having been vaccinated. Many are highly confident that being vaccinated is the key to safe traveling. Some still aren’t buying the idea. What are the top 5 reasons for being vaccinated before traveling?

5) Contact with others: There is no doubt that when traveling, travelers will be making contact with people around them. There is no way around it. It’s part of human behavior. When is there never any contact between people? Even when on board a cruise ship, a train, or airplane, people will bump into one another. People will shake hands with the captain on their cruise. Conductors will need passengers to hand their tickets to them to be scanned. There’s contact there. On an airplane, while being squished in coach class like sardines, there’s definitely going to be contact. Being vaccinated, a must!

4) Defense against germs in public places: Whether they feel comfortable or not, travelers are going to find themselves in places they don’t want to go. The most prevalent place where travelers are going to be highly conscious of germs is in public restrooms. Whether in airports, train stations, cruise terminals, bus terminals, or in public restrooms at a favorite theme park, the concern is there. Having been vaccinated provides travelers with the sense of assuredness that finally they can breathe a bit easier. Having been vaccinated, travelers don’t have to be overcome with the paranoia of wondering who washed their hands after doing their business and who didn’t. Thorough hand washing is a must, but having been vaccinated is paramount.

3) Being in crowded areas: If there is one situation that everyone feared the most during the Coronavirus pandemic, it was being in crowded areas. Crowded areas, especially beach parties, New Year’s Eve gatherings, crowded airports, and train stations at rush hour are prime examples. In crowded areas such as these, germs can be passed around at anytime in a variety of ways. With summertime coming up, everyone is going to be mixing and mingling with crowds at some point. Given the situation, being vaccinated before considering going into crowded areas is a must. It’s a matter of travelers protecting themselves and others in the long run.

2) International travel: No region has been hit the hardest by the Coronavirus than the European continent. Italy, Spain, Great Britain, and France took the hardest of hits. All are frequently visited by millions from around the world. Soon, the European continent will be fully vaccinated, allowing visitors from the United States to enter once again. Such crowded areas in Europe include train stations, museums, historic landmarks, and of course, airports. Should being vaccinated be of high priority? YES, INDEED.

1) Cruising: No industry was hit harder than the cruising industry. The cruising industry halted its operations worldwide in response to the concerns of the Coronavirus. The CDC then made a disturbing comment, calling cruise ships “floating petri dishes”. This infamous comment brought about more fear than that caused by the virus itself. In preparation for their upcoming cruise, travelers must get vaccinated. All must be put on notice that cruise passengers come from all around the world. It behooves all cruise passengers worldwide to follow the cruise lines’ health and safety guidelines during the lifeboat safety muster drill. Also, as per the Defense Act, cruise passengers must be made aware of where on board ship the medical office is located. Above all, being vaccinated is #1 on all cruise passengers’ packing check lists. Toiletry kits, formal night wardrobe, rechargeable batteries, and proper swimwear are secondary. Getting vaccinated is indispensable!

The Coronavirus vaccine is finally being distributed. Yes, there have been some hick-ups in the process. Looking beyond the setback, the bigger comeback is on the way. The travel industry will soon be rebounding from its ungodly slump. Theme parks nationwide closed, costing billions of dollars. They too are expected to reopen on time. As soon as the Coronavirus pandemic ends, there’s no doubt that the travel industry will bounce back swiftly. Millions of Americans will be hitting the highways, the skies, and the train stations. It will be a moment to behold. Before that moment can take place, all Americans and all travelers included, must get their Coronavirus vaccine. Getting vaccinated is #1 atop all travelers’ packing lists. Before that suitcase comes out of storage, those two shots in the arm are the most vital. Before postcards and souvenir shopping lists can be written, getting vaccinated is fundamental. Before boarding any airplane, bus, train, or cruise ship, travelers must do the right thing. Before traveling, getting vaccinated protects all travelers. Let it be the shot felt around the world.
